Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Le Silla?
Le Silla names the countries where it covers duties and taxes, and Switzerland is not among them. On a CHF 400 pair of shoes expect about CHF 32 import VAT plus a DHL clearance fee of roughly CHF 20.
The verdict rests on Switzerland being missing from a list rather than on a sentence naming Switzerland. The Shipments page still carries a blanket line about taxes and duties being included, which reads as written for the EU and US markets, and I could not load the Swiss locale of the site or find Reddit or Trustpilot reports from Swiss buyers to settle it.
Le Silla is operated by Sicap Srl in Porto Sant'Elpidio, Italy, and sells through a Shopify store that ships worldwide, Switzerland included. The FAQ answers the duties question with a closed list: the EU, the USA, Canada, the UK and a set of Middle Eastern countries. Switzerland is absent from that list, and the same answer says duties for other countries fall on the customer. The terms repeat the point for all non-EU destinations, and the FAQ shipping table puts non-EU orders on DHL Express as a paid service.
The checkout may quote a duties and taxes line through DHL for Switzerland that the FAQ list does not describe. Separately, the terms say prices include VAT for Italy and the EU, so a Swiss buyer may pay Italian VAT in the price and Swiss VAT again on delivery.
“For other countries: any duties are at the customer’s expense.”
“DHL Express – paid – 2-3 days”
“For deliveries requested to countries outside the European Union, any import customs duties may be charged to the recipient.”
“For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, customs duties and import charges may apply and are the responsibility of the recipient.”
“The shipments are free, the Tax and Duties are included in the prices of the products.”
