Zollklar is an information service. It reports whether a foreign webshop appears to cover Swiss import VAT and customs clearance, or whether the charge is likely to reach the buyer on delivery. Each verdict is a summary of research into the shop's own published pages together with public buyer reports, and carries the quotes it rests on so it can be checked rather than trusted.

Shops change their shipping terms, their carriers, and their VAT registration without notice, and they are not obliged to tell us. A verdict describes what the research found on the date shown beside it, and it can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
The shop's current terms and the applicable Swiss customs and VAT rules always prevail over anything stated here. Check them before you order.

This site links to shops and to third-party pages quoted as evidence. Those pages are outside our control and are not adopted as our own. Responsibility for their content rests with their operators.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Looking up a shop needs no account. If you sign in, we store the name and email address you sign in with and the shops you save. If you ask to be emailed when a check is done, we keep that address, the page language and a hashed IP address only until the email is sent, and at most 24 hours; a keyed hash of the address and of your IP address is kept for up to a day to limit requests. Signed in, the shop is saved to your account instead. If you ask to be notified in this browser, we keep the push address your browser's push service (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft, possibly outside Switzerland) issued for it, the page language and a hashed IP address only until the notification is sent, and at most 24 hours (as with email, a keyed hash of your IP address is kept for up to a day to limit requests), and send one notification through that service; its content is encrypted, so the service only learns that a message was sent.
This site measures its own usage with PostHog, hosted in the European Union. No cookie is set and nothing is written to your browser's storage; visits are counted from a rotating server-side hash that cannot be traced back to you or joined up across days. We record which pages are opened, which shops are checked, which parts of a page are clicked or filled in, whether a check succeeded, and any error the site throws; what you type into a field is not recorded. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, your visit is not measured at all. Separately from any visit, the service records whether each shop check, sign-up and sign-in succeeded, so that failures can be found and fixed; the sign-up and sign-in records are linked to your account.

Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The place of jurisdiction is Zurich, to the extent permitted by applicable law — mandatory places of jurisdiction, including those available to consumers, are unaffected.
