Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Fermó Gianni?
The shop states that customs duties, taxes and import fees on international orders are the buyer's responsibility and are not in the checkout total. On a CHF 400 order a Swiss buyer pays about CHF 32 import VAT plus a courier fee of roughly CHF 15 to 30.
The policy wording is explicit, but the pages are a partly unedited template with another company's name still in them, so they may not describe what the checkout actually does. No buyer reports for this shop were found on Reddit or Trustpilot.
The shipping policy dated April 2026 says international customers carry any customs duties, taxes or import fees levied by their own authority. It adds that these charges sit outside the order total and the shipping fee at checkout. The terms of service repeat that posted prices exclude taxes, customs and import charges. The company address is in Tampa, Florida, and the store prices in USD by default, with CHF offered through Shopify's country selector. Nothing on the site mentions Swiss VAT, a Swiss VAT number, or delivered-duty-paid shipping.
The pages carry leftover text from a template, naming "Boraele Co." in two sections and linking a mailto address at another domain. The homepage banner promises complimentary worldwide shipping while the policy page quotes international rates from USD 14.95, so the checkout price is the one that counts. Shopify merchants can switch on duty and import tax collection per market at any time, which would change the outcome without the policy text being updated.
An order under about CHF 62 produces less than CHF 5 of import VAT, which Swiss customs does not collect, so a small parcel may arrive with nothing to pay.
