Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Westwing (DE)?
The German site delivers only to addresses in Germany, so you cannot have a Westwing.de order sent to Switzerland. Swiss shoppers are pointed to westwing.ch. That shop's help centre says Westwing itself pays all customs, import tax and clearance fees, so nothing is due at the door.
The German AGB clause and the country-selector article are current and unambiguous, so the no-shipping finding is solid. The residual weakness is that this is read from the terms and the help centre rather than from a live checkout attempt with a Swiss address.
Westwing.de's own terms are explicit: the AGB apply to consumers with a German billing address, and clause 10.1 states that deliveries are made only within Germany to the address you give. The group help centre reinforces this with a country-shop list that sends Swiss customers to westwing.ch. The Swiss-language help article on customs states that all duty, import taxes and clearance charges are borne by Westwing and that the checkout total is final. That is a DDP arrangement on the .ch shop rather than on the .de shop.
A Swiss buyer who uses a German delivery address or a forwarding service such as MeinEinkauf.ch is importing on their own account. That buyer pays 8.1% import VAT plus the agent's or the carrier's clearance fee. Bulky furniture sent by freight forwarder costs considerably more.
