Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Debenhams?
Debenhams' own delivery page lists only UK and Northern Ireland options, so there is no Swiss delivery to price up. If you want their goods in Switzerland you would need a UK forwarding address, and then you pay the 8.1% import VAT plus the forwarder's and carrier's fees yourself.
This is an inference from an omission rather than an explicit statement. Debenhams nowhere says 'we do not deliver to Switzerland', it simply never lists a non-UK option, and I could not drive the live checkout to test whether a Swiss address is accepted. A third-party forwarding service states plainly that Debenhams only ships within the UK, which is consistent but is not the shop speaking.
The Debenhams delivery information page sets out a full price table of delivery options, and every one is a UK or Northern Ireland service (UK Standard £3.99, Supersaver, Next Day, InPost Locker, Evri, DPD, plus three Northern Ireland tiers). There is no international tier, no country selector on the help pages, and nothing anywhere on the delivery page, FAQ or terms about customs, duties or import taxes. The terms and conditions confirm that country restrictions apply, that you may only buy if you are resident in a country they deliver to, and that prices are shown in pounds sterling only. The operating entity is DBZ Marketplace Online Limited under English law.
Debenhams is a marketplace with many concession brands and has been expanding into international sites (Ireland, Australia). An individual concession seller could conceivably accept an overseas address, and any such parcel would arrive DAP with Swiss import VAT and a carrier fee due on delivery.
