Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from JW PEI?
JW PEI ships bags and shoes to Switzerland for CHF 9.90, free from CHF 120, and states that duties and taxes are the customer's responsibility. On a CHF 400 order expect about CHF 32 import VAT plus a carrier handling fee of roughly CHF 12.
Both shop pages are explicit, but neither names Switzerland in the duty section, and no Swiss buyer report was found to confirm what the carrier actually bills on delivery. A Shopify Markets checkout could in principle collect import charges without the policy pages saying so.
The shipping policy answers the duty question directly. For Europe and for international orders it says orders may be subject to duties and taxes and that customers are responsible for these fees. The terms and conditions repeat the point, stating that the consignee pays taxes and duties in addition to the purchase price. The standard shipping table lists Switzerland at CHF 9.90, free above CHF 120, with delivery in 5 to 20 business days.
Express shipping goes via UPS, FedEx or DHL, whose clearance fee on a Swiss import typically runs above the postal CHF 11 to 16.
