Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from home24.ch?
Prices are shown in francs including Swiss VAT, and home24 delivers only to addresses inside Switzerland. Nothing is collected by the carrier at the door, you pay only the shipping cost shown at checkout.
The terms are dated September 2025 and carry a Swiss VAT number, which is strong. The weakness is an omission, since no page states in words that import charges are covered.
The terms for home24.ch state that listed prices are final prices including the applicable Swiss VAT, with shipping charged separately per order. The same terms say delivery takes place exclusively within Switzerland. The operator is home24 SE in Berlin, registered for Swiss VAT under UID CHE-357.678.922 MWST, which is the setup used by foreign shops that clear goods themselves and bill Swiss VAT at checkout.
What complicates it is that the terms never mention customs or import charges at all, so the conclusion rests on the VAT registration and the Switzerland-only delivery clause rather than an explicit promise. The site also lists marketplace items sold and shipped by partners, and clause 9 of the terms covers only home24 SE articles. Those partner parcels are still priced in francs with Swiss VAT, but the shop does not say who clears them.
Marketplace articles sold and dispatched by partner sellers fall outside clause 9 of the terms, and the shop does not name the clearing party for them.
