Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Breuninger?
Breuninger's Swiss shop quotes prices in francs with Swiss VAT and customs clearance already included. Nothing is collected by the carrier when the parcel arrives.
Three separate Breuninger pages agree, so the base case is firm. One wrinkle: §6(3) of the Swiss terms says further costs such as delivery and customs costs are shown separately, which reads as a general clause rather than a charge on delivery. No Swiss buyer reports of surprise carrier invoices were found, so the everyday experience is unconfirmed by third parties.
The Swiss help centre answers the customs question directly. Orders ship from Germany to Switzerland, and import costs such as VAT, clearance fees and duty are already contained in the displayed prices. The Swiss terms of service state that all prices in the shop are in Swiss francs including statutory VAT. Delivery is by Schweizerische Post PostPac Priority at CHF 9.00, free from CHF 149, with a minimum order value of CHF 20. The site footer repeats that no additional customs fees apply.
Bulky partner articles delivered by forwarder rather than Swiss Post are priced separately in the German help centre, and the Swiss page does not describe that case.
