Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from IV Studio?
IV Studio sells board games and promises duty-free delivery from regional hubs, with no mention of Switzerland anywhere. Nothing on the site states who pays Swiss import VAT of 8.1 percent and the carrier handling fee.
Confidence is low because the shop has no shipping or tax page at all, and the one relevant line is a marketing badge that uses duty-free loosely. I also could not confirm Switzerland is a selectable destination, since the storefront served a United States market view.
The shop at iv.studio resolves to shop.iv.studio, a Shopify storefront for the board game publisher IV Studio. There is no shipping policy page in the footer. The only shipping statement is a badge repeated on product pages and in the footer, promising duty-free delivery from regional shipping hubs. The terms of service say nothing about import taxes, customs clearance, or who acts as importer of record.
The phrase duty-free does not answer the Swiss question. Switzerland charges no duty on board games since January 2024, so a parcel can be duty-free and still carry 8.1 percent import VAT plus a handling fee. The country selector rendered only United States with USD pricing when the pages were read, so I could not confirm that a Swiss address is accepted at checkout, nor whether an EU hub or a US hub would send the parcel. European payment methods such as iDEAL and Bancontact appear in the footer, which points to EU fulfilment but proves nothing about Switzerland.
A deluxe edition or bundle above roughly CHF 62 sent from an EU hub would attract Swiss import VAT plus a carrier fee, unless IV Studio is registered for Swiss VAT and clears the parcel itself.
“Regional hubs, duty-free shipping.”
“Fast, duty-free delivery from regional shipping hubs”
“Country/region”
