Do you pay Swiss import VAT and customs charges when ordering from Eight Sleep?
Eight Sleep runs a Swiss storefront with CHF prices and free shipping, and no page states whether Swiss import VAT is already covered. The only tax clause in its terms puts duties and taxes on the buyer, so a Pod at CHF 2'599 could draw roughly CHF 210 of import VAT plus a clearance fee.
Confidence is low because the shop publishes no shipping or customs page for Switzerland, and the one tax clause is boilerplate rather than a Swiss statement. No buyer report of a Swiss delivery was found to settle it.
The Swiss storefront at eightsleep.com/ch prices the Pod 6 from CHF 1'999 and promises free shipping to 35 or more countries, with Switzerland named in the shipping regions. Nothing on the Swiss pages, the product page, the terms and conditions or the return policy says that Swiss import VAT and customs clearance are paid by Eight Sleep.
The only statement that touches the question is section 5.4 of the Terms of Service, which makes the buyer responsible for taxes, duties and fees except where Eight Sleep must collect them. That is a generic United States clause and it does not confirm how a Swiss parcel is actually declared. Local CHF pricing often goes with delivered duty paid shipping, so the two signals point in opposite directions and neither is decisive.
A Pod 6 at CHF 2'599 carries about CHF 210 of import VAT at 8.1 percent if it arrives unpaid, plus an express carrier clearance fee.
